Edwin Arlington Robinson, Richard Cory

  1. I've read many poems in the past that ended the way this one did but those ones had way more detail.

I felt it was too short and the writer didn't give many details for the reason he committed suicide except for the fact that he was rich and lived a monotonous life with work being his only daily activity. I guess at the time it was written it was probably far more impacting but in this day and age, it's unoriginal and weak.

  2. I loved the story of Richard Cory.Money does not buy happiness. This goes to show you should never judge a book by its cover. Good or bad, you don’t know anyone’s story until you are in his or her shoes. The ending didn’t shock me too much. I think I was prepared for what was to come after reading the authors’ background. I’m sure no one wants to be in his place after finding out about his death.
