Joseph Bruchac III, Ellis Island

  1. I liked this poem a lot. I say this because in it he speaks about his mixed nationalities. On one side he connects with his European ancestors who are coming to this land to finally be free, while on the other side he acknowledges how his Native American ancestors felt when their land was invaded. It was cool how he understood both sides and did not choose one over the other.
