This poem was very short but it really touched my heart. I liked how simple it was, how short. How with the use of a few words, Edwin Arlington Robinson made me feel like I was there, saying goodbye to a fallen soldier.
I felt the wind in my hair, the sunset shining upon my half closed, tear filled, eyes because I feel like somehow I know the soldier. I see the trumpets but I don't hear them because it all feels like a dream.
I see his or her life going away and the soldier moving on to a better place, a much better place...but I don't see "the wars" fading...and I wish I did...
